I want to be a graduate student in your lab. How do I apply?
We are not currently accepting any new graduate students.
I am an undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Austin. How can I get involved in lab?
We are always looking for undergraduate students that are curious about how people use language in their everyday lives. Undergraduate students in our lab help on a variety of projects and in different ways ranging from preparing data to building websites to using different types of software to perform computerized text analysis. If you are interested in working with our lab, please contact us.
I am a student at a different university. How can I get involved in lab?
Each summer, we admit a select team of undergraduate interns to work on ongoing projects. The internships typically begin mid-May and run until early August. These internships are for those students who are interested in learning more about computerized text analysis, language, and psychology. In the past we have had students from a variety of academic backgrounds, including students in Psychology, English, Communications, and Computer Science, to name a few. It also helps if you are an extremely hard worker. If you are interested in the possibility of a summer internship, please contact us.
How else can I get involved?
Everyone in the lab is super curious and always looking for new, interesting research questions. Feel free to reach out to any of us at any time via e-mail to discuss collaboration possibilities, get a cup of coffee, or just talk!
